  I’ve had a love for motorcycles since a very young age. There are family pictures of me receiving motorcycle related gifts around the Christmas tree at around the tender age of five. While I was deeply obsessed with bikes even at this age, I must admit when I was young a few of them gave me a pretty good scare; my first two stroke YZ 125 dirt bike comes to mind as well as a 2003 CBR1000 that was probably more of a handful on the street than I was ready for in my late teens.

  I thought it would be out of scale, like a Hummer at a drive-in, but within a few minutes of collecting it Yamaha's second-generation V-Max demonstrated enough poise and low-speed controllability to slice through the 5pm traffic like a bike half its size.
  
  And it had enough instantaneous acceleration to grab the gaps before the car drivers even knew they were there.
