    Triumph chose this year's BikeWeek in Daytona, FL. to introduce to the press their new for 2010 Triumph Thunderbird. There has been a lot of info available on the web for awhile now but this was our first chance to actually see the bike in person and sit our butts on the seat.
    We all gathered at a small restaurant in Ponce Inlet, FL to check out Triumph's biggest twin yet. The lighting was dim so photos were not very easy to take, though there were some insistent journalists there that tried; probably told to come back with photos under pain of death by their Editor-in-Chief.

    Wide open two lane highways stretching out into the distance. Tree covered roads meandering through small towns. Winding country lanes cutting a scenic path beside a stream. Main St. USA on a Saturday night.
    All these places are the domain of that distinctly American of bikes, the cruiser. But not just any cruiser will do, mind you. Only the biggest, baddest bikes need apply here. Got less than 1200cc? Got more than 2 cylinders? Either way, brother, you don't fit in and you're not wanted so go play in the sandbox.

    I grew up with a love of bikes, scrambling in the back garden and across the fields of Stratford-upon-Avon on an 80cc Suzuki that I shared with a friend. Funnily enough, the one rule my dad gave me before I left home was "Don't get a motorbike" - so of course that was the first thing I did when I left home.

    When I came back from my training in France I got a Yamaha FZR 1000 Genesis, then a Ducati 748, then a Honda Fireblade - a ridiculous death machine - followed by a Yamaha R1 and a Ducati 1098S.
