La linea riprende quella del V-Strom 1000, con un frontale voluminoso (che il mondo degli scooter stia contaminando il settore moto?) abbracciato da due muscolose fiancate, che convergono verso una sella dalla sagomatura molto accentuata. La conformazione di quest'ultima, fa apparire la moto piu' bassa di quello che è in realtà: guadagna due centimetri verso il basso rispetto alla versione maggiore, ma rimane piuttosto alta.
Il doppio faro anteriore, che caratterizza molto la linea del mezzo, riprende il filone estetico inaugurato con la prima R1, ripreso poi in molti modelli della casa di Iwata.

And so it is with the new Suzuki DL650 V-Strom, a wonderfully competent bike that might be overlooked because of an appearance that might be diplomatically termed as "funky." So we ask you to overlook the superficial, as Lennon did, and give this piece a chance.

It's no secret; Suzuki hit the ball out of the proverbial park when it introduced the original SV and SV650S. The bike seemingly filled a huge void for an uncomplicated, easy going, good handling and cheap lightweight. What to do to compliment that class? How about rounding it out with a mini super-tourer? All the benefits of the easy handling 650 but with the ability to cruise long and hard, with some rider friendly sit up and beg comfort thrown in for good measure.
