Moto Guzzi was established in 1921 in Mandello del Lario, Italy by partners Emanuele Vittorio Parodi, his son Giorgio and ex-comrade in arms in the Italian Air Force and motorcycling enthusiast, Carlo Guzzi. The story goes that Carlo Guzzi was unable to find the ideal motorcycle, so he decided to build it himself. The Moto Guzzi company grew from this infancy to become the oldest European manufacturer in continuous motorcycle production.
