2007 leg-up for Honda's high-ridin' Varadero (Motoring.co.za)
Model(s) covered: 2007 Honda XL 1000 V Varadero
Honda's Varadero tourer has become more user-friendly for 2007 thanks to minor - but effective updates - that include a new fuel-injection system.
The 996cc V-twin now has a leaner-running, Euro 3-compliant fuel supply and a catalytic converter that has softened throttle response and made the bike easier to ride in traffic.
Peak power is still quoted as 69kW with 98Nm of torque at 6000rpm but the bottom end has lost some of its immediacy – not a bad thing because the 2004 model we tried was uncomfortably jerky at small throttle openings while the '07 picks up a lot more smoothly.
