CBR600RR Road Impression: "Road Ready" Magic Returns (Onewheeldrive.net)
Model(s) covered: 2007 Honda CBR 600 RR
"Ah," I think to myself, "Honda what have you done?" Our loaner 2007 CBR600RR from Carter Motorsports is blue and quicksilver, launching out of the turn in 2nd gear on a wave of rediscovered midrange torque, the tach sweeping from 7,000-11,000RPM. New lighter titanium under seat exhaust issues the lusty howl of a euphoric in-line four... the front end gets light, and then settles as the Honda Electronic Steering Damper does its job. Tight, compact, planted, nimble, superbly confident and relatively comfortable, the new CBR600RR Honda has found its road going plot on a bike that's winning the press's track raves - more important Honda's found "Magic" in the CBR again.

Alright, we don't wanna hear any whining about having to read another sportbike comparison test. We'll eventually get to the dual-sport comparo and the cruiser face-off, we promise, but first it's time again for the middleweights to throw down.
This is a class in which the evolution of a motorcycle is most apparent. It's actually appropriate that bikes bred for the cut-and-thrust of the racetrack also constitute the most ferociously competitive street market segment. It offers an omnipresent promise of something better.

Honda's CBR600RR: hidden talents exposed (Motoring.co.za)
Model(s) covered: 2007 Honda CBR 600 RR
My first impression of the Honda CBR600RR when I rode it at its South African launch in January 2007 was of an astonishingly competent middleweight sport bike that had had nearly all the character refined out of it.
I thought then that if I had to ride it every day I might become bored – bearing in mind I've mostly owned Italian machines that, if anything, err in the opposite direction.

Something occurred to me whilst attending this World press intro for the (all) new CBR600RR. It was the fact that this middleweight bike was one of the first intro’s I attended and started my budding journalistic career on. The model has fared well over the years too, it’s fresh looking and considerably slimmer, quite the opposite of my chubby and wrinkled good-self.
I witnessed one of the most significant model upgrades back in 2003 and it represented one small step for man but one giant leap for Honda. Remember this is a solid and consistent line that produced a string of Supersport wins in the 80’s and 90’s and had started to suffer (in race trim) by not garnering the Supersport championships in typical HRC conquering fashion.

For 20 years the Honda CBR600 has enjoyed unrivaled success on the street, the track and the sales floor. This latest version has the potential to continue that trend and elevate supersport class performance to the next level.
Honda's design team had a goal: Build the fastest 600 for street or track while retaining Honda reliability and meeting strict new emission standards while keeping the cost at a level that won't scare away consumers.
