After much anticipation, the 2008 Ducati 1098R has finally arrived and after a day of pounding out laps on the machine that is supposed to swing the World Superbike balance of power back to the Italians, we came away impressed.
When the 1098 debuted back in 2006, Ducati was optimistic about the bike's potential. Much to the dismay of superbike fans it didn't make an appearance in the premier racing series' that year, though it ultimately turned out to be a huge sales success, with dealerships cleaned-out from coast to coast.
